Graduate Assistantships

Graduate assistantships are designed to serve the needs of the College and to assist in the professional development of students. Assistantships provide a tuition waiver and a stipend of $3,900 per semester for Ph.D. students, or $3,480 per semester for master’s students.

student studying photoGraduate assistantships are competitive, and are awarded by the College to qualified students who have been admitted to an Urban graduate degree program. Each graduate assistant candidate must have an undergraduate or graduate GPA of 3.0 or better to qualify and retain a graduate assistantship. Law school students enrolled in a dual program must have at least a 2.5 GPA. Graduate assistants are required to be enrolled for at least 9 credit hours per semester and work 20 hours per week in their assignment.

The graduate assistant application for fall 2008 is due by March 1, 2008. Graduate assistant applications can be obtained in the Office of Student Services, or candidates can fill out the application online.
