Balancing Conservation and Development

Case Studies: Walden at Tinkers Creek

Articles | Case Studies | Concept Tour

Walden at Tinkers Creek, located in Aurora, Portage County (Walden Realty), is an example of historic conservation efforts. The project is 267 acres, with 71 acres of dedicated open space. The original homestead barn still stands as a focal point in the common area, and is a historic anchor for an equestrian facility.

The architectural style of the new homes reflect the barn and the Western Reserve architecture found throughout Aurora. The homes do not look out of place because of their newness. Rather, they fit in with Aurora’s traditional rural landscape.
