Calendar of Events

The Leadership Academy Ambassador Program will provide the opportunity to continue to explore and demonstrate leadership competencies as well as stay connected with other Leadership Academy Fellows. The goals of the program are:

  • Expand relationships with other Leadership Academy fellows
  • Create collaborative opportunities among sponsoring organizations
  • Develop a pool of mentors comprised of Leadership Academy graduates
The intent of the Leadership Academy Ambassador Program is to provide opportunities for Leadership Academy graduates to continue learning and applying these five leadership dimensions within their organizations as well as the community at large. Leadership Academy Ambassadors will provide a link to sharing best practices in application.

Initially, the Leadership Academy Ambassador Program offers two leadership engagement components:
  • Continuing Education
  • Mentoring and Outreach

Continuing Education

The Continuing Education component will assist all Leadership Academy graduates to stay engaged with the Center for Leadership Development, as well as the community as a whole. Quarterly functions will be planned, highlighting upcoming trends, projects, and organizational development initiatives. The Center for Leadership Development has “Calendar of Events” page that lists continuing education opportunities sponsored by the Center for Leadership Development or sponsoring organizations. These functions may include but not limited to:

  • Attending new Leadership Academy curriculum units, RSVP required
  • Attending Public Management Academy and Cleveland Management Academy project presentations, RSVP required
  • Attending events hosted by sponsoring organizations events (i.e. RTA, NEORSD, CMHA)
The Continuing Education component will be a cross-functional endeavor, between the Leadership Society Board, Center for Leadership Development, Leadership Academy, and the sponsoring agencies. This component focuses on identifying continuing education opportunities/ideas and translating those opportunities/ideas into networking events or educational programs for Leadership Academy participants and graduates.

Mentoring and Outreach

The Mentoring and Outreach component will compile a list of Leadership Academy graduates who are willing to mentor either current Leadership Academy participants or alumni of the program.

A database will be maintained of Leadership Academy graduates, willing to share their expertise and experience. The Mentoring and Outreach component networks with sponsoring agencies to identify programs, organizational projects, and community development activities that might benefit from the expertise of Leadership Academy Ambassadors and connects sponsoring agencies to expertise within the Leadership Academy Ambassador database. This will become a catalyst for mentoring throughout the community.

The Mentoring and Outreach component, like Continuing Education, will be a cross-functional endeavor between the Leadership Society Board, Center for Leadership Development, Leadership Academy, and the sponsoring agencies. This component facilitates organizational engagement by securing site visits to partner organizations to review and discuss contemporary leadership development issues within their organization.

Site Visits may include:

  • Agency tour
  • Lunch
  • Round-table discussions of how the five dimensions of the Leadership Academy have been developed on an individual and organizational basis
  • Discuss strategic issues or projects of the organization
  • Identify networking and collaboration opportunities with Leadership Academy Fellows/ partner organizations
