Program
The Center for Civic Education’s newest exhibit complements the January 26th forum event Design District: A Progress Report which presented an exciting plan for a design district along Euclid Avenue in Cleveland. The concept of the District is being developed by Cleveland State University and the Cleveland Institute of Art, with support from the Cleveland Foundation's Civic Innovation Lab and working with a number of community partners. Edward “Ned” Hill, Vice President of Economic Development at Cleveland State University, and Dan Cuffaro, Chair and Professor, Department of Industrial Design at the Cleveland Institute of Art, have provided leadership for the initiative which will run along Euclid Avenue from Playhouse Square to East 36th Street. The District of Design will be an agglomeration of design concept showrooms, industrial design firms and advanced manufacturing and materials companies.

As the Design District concept moves closer to becoming a reality, you can preview the award winning work of the next generation of industrial designers at this new exhibit in the Thomas F. Campbell Exhibition Gallery. The exhibit showcases inventive designs by students from The Cleveland Institute of Art (CIA), one of the worlds leading design schools. Visitors will have an opportunity to see concepts of new products that may one day be in our homes, on our streets and in our lives. This exhibit is an exciting glimpse into the future of the District of Design.

Presented in Partnership with:
