VISION

To achieve health equity by promoting health and well-being for all at the local, regional, and national levels.

MISSION

To provide leadership to advance the understanding of health disparities and their resolution through interdisciplinary research, community partnerships, and multidisciplinary education; and to develop and implement strategies that promotes health equity and well-being for individuals, families, and communities.

GOALS

Education and Training:

  • a) enhance the understanding of health disparities for students and working professionals through multidisciplinary education;
  • b) recruit and educate minorities into professions that can improve people’s health and well-being.

Community Outreach:

  • a) develop community-based partnerships that improve community health and reduce disparities;
  • b) engage communities and its residents in understanding their leadership role through advocacy for their health and that of the community.

Research and Resource:

  • a) build upon Cleveland State University’s engaged learning initiative to foster a community of interdisciplinary researchers to understand the determinants of health disparities and their resolution thereby increasing health equity;
  • b) inform public policies aimed at improved health and health equity
